Serena is a 13 1/2 year old Bishon. At this age she has several health concerns. ma We recently discovered she had developed both eye ulcers and high blood pressure. Dr. Jodie treated the ulcers with haliotis powder and the blood pressure with hawthorne. The ulcers are completely gone and her blood pressure is down from 180 to 140.

Thank you Dr. Jodie!

Zoe came to see Dr. Jodie after a year of numerous trips to other veterinarians, lots of tests and trying every kibble and canned dog food known to man to try to help her colitis. She went cold turkey onto a raw diet with no loose stools which seemed like a miracle to me. Dr. Jodie had me keep a journal and also taught me how to wean Zoe off Flaygll if she had a flare up. It took a few months of experimenting, but Zoe is back to being the dog I knew before she got sick. I never thought I would see this day. I realize she may still have an occasional flare up but we have gone 3 ½ months of being a normal dog. I thank Dr. Jodie from the bottom of my heart. Her staff is so kind and patient with me and I thank them as well. We drive a long way to the Animal Doctor but I would never take my Zoe to another vet.

Thank you, thank you, and thank you!!!! Cindy Adler

We brought Skylar our 11 year old “Golden” in last summer because she could barley walk or move. We were told that she has severe hip dysplasia. Doctor Jodie put her on a few supplements and herbal pain medication.

It’s been six months and she is doing great. She even takes a little gallop around the backyard once in awhile. She will never be back to her youthful self but she’s happy and mobile and that’s what counts. She always wants to go for a walk when I get home from work.

Thanks for the great care and compassion you always give.

I'd like you to meet Halas - our 5 year old miniature dachshund. He is our miracle - thanks to Dr. Jodi. In April 2009, we came home from work and he was in major distress; he was trembling, terrified and unable to walk. We immediately took him to see Dr. Jodi. She was able to quickly diagnose him with a significant spinal injury and she calmly presented our options - immediate surgery or an anti-inflammatory injection, acupuncture, crate rest and herbal supplements. After thorough discussion, we elected to proceed with the injection, the acupuncture, crate rest and the herbal supplements.

Things got far worse before they got better! Within days, Halas was without any 'deep pain sensation', he was paralyzed 'from the waist down', he was unable to urinate or defecate on his own and his tail no longer was wagging. Dr. Jodi advised that he had IVDD (inter-vertebral disc disease) and she and her staff took the next steps to teach us how to express his bladder and how to do safe exercises with his rear legs to prevent muscle atrophy. Expressing his bladder was very difficult. We made several emergency trips back to the Animal Doctor for assistance and remedial training. Dr. Jodi and her staff were so compassionate, patient and supportive during this very trying time. Halas was only 4 years old at the time and the thought of giving up tore our hearts out. It simply was not an option.

After 5 long weeks of paralysis and the chosen path of treatments - his tail began to wag again! Shortly thereafter, he began to momentarily stand on his own, then he went potty by himself! My goodness - we had reason to celebrate! We continued with his treatments and I am happy to say that now he is nearly back to his old self. He is completely self sufficient, walking on his own and he even runs again! His back is slightly arched up and we're continuing with less frequent acupuncture and chiropractic therapies to try to keep him as comfortable as possible. We've also changed from the healing herbs to the long term helpful healthy herbs for his IVDD condition.

We'll always have to be cautious of his activity, but we are so grateful that we took Dr. Jodi's advice and chose to give Halas the opportunity to heal and live out his life. He is a joyful part of our family and we are so happy to have him with us. Thank you so much to Dr. Jodi and the wonderful caring staff at The Animal Doctor! Jane and Larry Pallen
I took my 10-year-old cat to see Doctor Jodie for the first time in June 2009. Thomas has had back pain for many years. Sometimes it was so severe that when I lightly touched him he would cry out in pain. Thomas also had a fatty tumor at his tailbone joint that has grown over the years to the size of a golf ball. Previous vet care was not able to bring Thomas any relief. After the initial exam Dr. Jodie recommended acupuncture treatments. I was concerned, as Thomas wouldn’t even allow me to touch his back most of the time. Dr. Jodie was so calming and reassuring to Thomas (and me). Thomas settled down and allowed her to place the needles. He did complain at a couple but he allowed it. Then Dr. Jodie added the electrical current and he settled right down and even purred a little. Since the treatment his back has been much better. The fatty tumor has decreased in size. Thomas has also now had one chiropractic appointment and did well with that, too. I am amazed at how much a calm atmosphere calms my kitties. Procedures - such as x-rays - that I was told at other clinics had to be done under anesthesia or other sedation - have been done without any sedation. My cats don’t mind going to the vet. They look at it as a place where they get relief. Thomas’ arthritis may never go away, but at least I am now able to offer him natural treatments that ease his pain and give him a better quality of life. Thank you Dr. Jodie and all the staff at Animal Doctor. ~ Linda A Nietz

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you to Dr. Jodie!! My name is Elliot and I am a 5 year old Yorkshire Terrier. In the fall of 2008 I began vomiting quite often. My mommy was very concerned since I only weigh 4 pounds, so she began taking notes and working closely with my veterinarian. A few months later I was still vomiting, so I had blood work done. It came back "more than perfect!" My veterinarian thought I could have Inflammatory Bowel Disease and thought it would be beneficial to start me on steroids. It was at this time my mommy began corresponding with Dr. Jodie at the Animal Doctor. We might live in Green Bay, but through my mommy's notes, emails, and blood work being faxed, Dr. Jodie suggested a raw food diet. Along with that she recommended having pet cod liver oil, canine enteric support and a probiotic. It has now been 4 months and I am so happy!! I don't get sick anymore (except if I eat the cat's hairballs!). At my recent physical, my veterinarian said I looked great and that my joints were getting tighter (must be the good food and cod liver oil!). My mommy and I walk around with a smile all the time because we are so grateful for Dr. Jodie. I love my food and my supplements and get so excited every day to eat... I love having all this energy (and not having to take any medicine)!!! Thank you, Dr. Jodie, for everything! My mommy tells everyone about you and my story! -Elliot (and my mommy, Rebecca) ~ Green Bay, WI
