Animal Doctor has a roomy surgical suite with glass doors and window for viewing and monitoring patient care. Dr. Jodie has been practicing surgery in Muskego for 25 years. Her anesthetic and pain management protocols have pleased many patients and guardians to the point of wonderful positive comments such as “my pet recovered from his procedure so well we couldn’t tell anything was done” and “my pet still loves coming here even after his procedure.” These comments make us proud of the work we do.
Certified veterinary technicians are instrumental in the implementation of anesthetic and surgical preparation and post-procedure care. Intravenous catheterization, fluid therapy, intratracheal intubation and inhalational anesthesia, heart rate and pulse oximetry monitoring, and pain management are standard with most procedures at the Animal Doctor including canine ovarohysterectomies (spays) and canine castrations (dog neuters). This is not standard across the veterinary industry. If you’re price shopping, for your pet’s safety and comfort, please compare quality of care and track record. We are competant in soft tissue surgeries such as spay, neuter, abdominal exploratories, lumpectomies, surgical dental extractions and supervision of dental prophylaxis by our CVT "hygienists".
Animal Doctor utilizes the independent service of Dr. Elizabeth Laing, a mobile boarded surgeon. She is experienced and respected by colleagues in particular for her skills in orthopedic repair. We most commonly enlist her expertise for ACL and luxated patella repairs and periodically anal gland removal.
Animal Doctor is very proud to have Dr. Andrea Weidner as part of our team. Dr. Weidner performed a partial colonectomy with anastomosis to prolong the life of our beloved Mr. T.
Dr. Weidner earned her veterinary degree from the University of Illinois in 2005. Her love for animals began while growing up on a farm. She had the desire early on to become a veterinarian and has had the pleasure of working with both large and small animals. Dr. Weidner has a passion for performing surgeries and is very excited to have the opportunity to work with all the staff and patients at Animal Doctor. Dr. Weidner shares her home with one dog and one cat and loves getting to spend time outdoors, being creative in the kitchen, and traveling. We can attest that she is an excellent surgeon, sweet person and a great baker!
